Introducing the Juicy Roller: next generation torque e-bike

Posted on in Brands & Products News, Cycles News, Outdoor News

Sleeker, lighter, and more powerful; the new Roller is our smoothest ride ever.

Roller combines the very best aspects of the Juicy Bike range with a whole host of new and exciting features.

We’ve carefully engineered the software and hardware to produce a responsive, light-weight e-bike able to cope with the most demanding commutes and adventurous weekends.

Every aspect of its development has been considered to cut down weight and improve performance. The RST aluminium forks use a single shock absorber and provide 35mm of travel while weighing in at just 1.4 kg. Roller's high torque Aikema motor produces over 40NM and is virtually silent delivering an amazing amount of power from such a small unit, weighing just 2.1Kgs.

Roller’s torque sensor responds the instant you touch the pedals, precisely multiplying your effort for a seamless e-bike experience that makes the motor feel like an extension of yourself.

Received wisdom says that if you want the best riding experience a crank drive bike is the way to go. At JUICY we beg to differ. Our experience has shown that the lighter weight, increased torque afforded by a rear hub drive system make this the better option. While crank drives allow for the use of hub gears, these come at the cost of more strain on the chain and heavier, clunkier motor. Roller’s high torque Aikema motor is neat, light and delivers power to precisely where it is needed.

It is in every sense a smart electric bike; specially tweaked control software ensures it's responsiveness and Roller also features a USB outlet enabling you to charge a phone in your panniers as you ride. The bike has a clear, 3 level LED display as standard, with the regular Juicy option to upgrade to a slim LCD Display, offering 5 levels of assistance, odometer and speed, for those seeking finer control.

Comfort is provided through suspension forks, suspension seat post and larger wheels to smooth the ride, while Tektro hydraulic brakes ensure an effortless halt. Wide semi-swept handlebars configured with Juicys neat, quick adjust mechanism, easily enable a wide range of arm and wrist positions, and make for a more relaxed rider. In achieving the perfect balance between pedal assist and rider effort, the Shimano Acera Rapidfire 8 speed gear shifter delivers, whether you are in the mood for a work out, or looking to coast and take in the scenery.

With design focused on lightness, pared down good looks naturally follow. Roller’s new frame, with concealed 10.5 AH Samsung battery (with the option to upgrade to 13.5AH), colour coordinated forks, and 700c wheels create a strikingly contemporary e-bike ready to face all the challenges of modern life.
