The Coach Pro show rides with Maxxis

Posted on in Brands & Products News, Cycles News, Outdoor News

Maxxis has been announced as the official tyre supplier of the second series of the popular The Coach Pro show. Produced by the BIKE Channel, the series will give viewers the chance to see Maxxis tyres put through its paces by the riders.

Season two of The Coach Pro television show is set to hit the screens this August. The program, run by the first television channel dedicated to the world of cycling, the BIKE Channel, follows two amateur road cyclists as they battle it out to become a professional rider, and the winner will gain a place on The Bike Channel Canyon team for 2018. The show is set to receive an estimated 1,000,000 viewers and will be broadcasted across all BIKE Channel’s networks including Sky, Virgin and FreeSat.

The announcement means that former World Tour road cycling professionals Rob Hayles and Brian Smith, as well as the shows contestants, will be riding on Maxxis tyres throughout the series. The main relay challenge, lasting 24 hours and covering the famous 2.4 mile GP circuit, will see one of the two Coach PRO finalists crowned the champion and really test the Maxxis road tyres. The show will give unique insight into the durability and quality of the tyres, as they will be tested in real life situations which they were designed for.

The managing director of Maxxis International Derek McMartin said: “The Coach Pro is a fantastic show that encourages people to pursue riding and gives riders a once in a life time opportunity. We are really thrilled to have the opportunity to feature our tyres on the show.

“As the number one bicycle tyre manufacturer, we know that our products offer our customers high quality and performance-focused tyres. But it is always important for us to push ourselves and our products to show what our tyres can do. The Coach Pro is the perfect platform for us to do this and we really look forward to seeing them in action.

“Entries are still open for those passionate about cycling and dreaming of a professional career. Everyone at Maxxis wishes the future participants all the best and we are certainly excited for the series to begin.”

Maxxis has a wide range of premium road tyres available to customers. This includes the lightest road tubeless ready tyre, Padrone, the specially designed training tyre, the Detonator, and the lightest tubular tyre called Campione TT. As the world’s largest bicycle tyre manufacturer, Maxxis doesn’t just provide high quality tyre solutions for road riders, but it also caters for BMX, cyclocross, downhill, urban, gravel, adventure and fat bike riders.
